Dan-Slovakia Agrar

Dan-Slovakia Agrar is a former communist state farm in Slovakia, originally established in 1949. In 2001, Erik Jantzen and a partner took over the farm and commenced a thorough renovation to bring the farm up to Western European standards.

Dan-Slovakia Agrar specialises in pig, milk and plant production, producing 75,000 slaughter pigs and 15 million litres of milk per year, and operates 4,200 hectares of land and employing a staff of 170.

Since its establishment, EUR 47 million has been invested in the enterprise, which is financed by Nordea, UniCredit and – as the first agricultural project in Slovakia – by the Slovakian government.

Erik Jantzen has been responsible for developing the farm and served as the company’s CEO for the first four years after establishment, and is still a member of the senior management.

Dan-Slovakia Agrar is today the largest farm with the highest earnings in Slovakia. Today Jantzen Development owns 30 % of the farm while the remaining 70 % is owned by three investors.
